Kolkata, February 10th 2018: ALCOVE REALTY, East India’s most coveted real-estate developers, inaugurated landmark township, ‘NEW KOLKATA’ along the Ganges in the presence of ALCOVE REALTY’s Chairman, Mr. Amar Nath Shroff and Directors, Mr. Ajay Kumar Shroff and Mr. Yashaswi Shroff and the Chief Architect of ‘NEW KOLKATA’, Mr. Hafeez Contractor. Being eligible for CLSS benefits under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna’ scheme, ‘NEW KOLKATA’ is hailed to be a milestone in the affordable housing segment.

Spread across more than 28 acres of land, ‘NEW KOLKATA’ is sub-divided into three parts. While Part 2 (called Sangam) and Part 3 (Prayag) constitutes Residential towers, Part 1 (Triveni) is dedicated to the Commercial amenities. Prayag was the first to be launched today, the construction for which has already began and expected to be completed by 2022-23, constituting 6 towers and housing 1,137 flats*.

Speaking on this momentous occasion with utmost passion and zeal, Shri Amar Nath Shroff, Chairman – ALCOVE REALTY, said, Project ‘NEW KOLKATA’ is all set to redefine the standard of living of Serampore and Bengal by creating a unique township model that is a city within the city. It is going to bring about a remarkable change in the lifestyle of the people, by providing all the luxuries of quality living along with excellent connectivity to Kolkata. Affordable, wellequipped and well-connected living by the Ganges is now a dream come true at New Kolkata.”

The highlight of the project is the facility of commuting in the township’s own ferries through private jetties. Residents can avail the ferry facility to cross over to Jagannath Temple or Millennium Park, or towards Dakshineshwar and use the upcoming metro facility to reach work places like Sector V in ease. Alternatively, residents can take a train from the Serampore town railway station or the near-by G.T. Road for their commute to Kolkata and nearby places. The township is wonderfully connected by the three-way transport – rail, road and river.

Padma Bhushan awardee, Hafeez Contractor has created an inimitable architectural design. The buildings have a unique architectural plan, with as much as 85% of the flats facing the Ganges. Residents shall wake up to the freshness of pure air, sunlight and a mesmerising and unobstructed view of the holy river. The entrance is beautifully designed in art deco style with landscaped gardens, vertical water cascades and sculptures. Moreover, to add to the serenity, the project offers its residents their very own Ganga Ghat or Promenade, where they can refresh themselves after a hard day’s work or perform rituals by the sacred river. Needless to say, the project offers plenty of open space and greenery, where the residents can avail facilities like separate cycling and jogging track, pet-park, outdoor yoga and meditation spaces, a calisthenics’ workout area, outdoor amphitheatre amongst others. There are separate underpasses which connects all the Plots, thereby preventing traffic congestion for the residents.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr. Hafeez Contractor, Chief Architect of New Kolkata said, “I strongly believe that every Indian should experience the pleasure of owning a house, and it is a pleasure to be associated with New Kolkata, which has helped me work towards my passion of Social Housing. Alcove Realty’s vision of providing quality living at affordable prices has been realized through New Kolkata, and it has indeed been an incredible experience seeing it come alive.”

The tall and impending towers are being constructed using best quality of raw materials. Almost all buildings are being made with iron and steel casting of the walls, barring a few non-structural partitions that will feature AAC blocks. Moreover, the on-site testing and laboratory facilities will ensure that raw material are tested and then used to make buildings strong at their foundation and capable of overcoming any natural calamities.
