Building Materials Brand Schon Doorways Crosses 180-plus Cities, Enters Global Construction Market

Bengaluru, May 5, 2025: Schon Doorways, one of India’s leading manufacturers of premium aluminium doors and windows, has expanded its domestic footprint to over 180-plus cities, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Pune.
The brand has begun with exports to key global markets, including Southeast Asia and West Asia. Early shipments have already reached the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia. This initiative reiterates the brand’s commitment to further emerging as a global player in sustainable building materials.
With India evolving from an import-based to a manufacturing-based economy, the aluminium windows and doors segment is estimated to reach $1.45 billion by 2029. The market size indicates significant demand for smart, sustainable and design-based solutions.
Schon Doorways’ strategic expansion comes at a time when the government has reiterated its vision to increase the share of manufacturing in GDP from 12 per cent to 23 per cent over the next two decades, and recorded a $29.79 billion FDI inflow into manufacturing in H1 FY2024–25, per DPIIT.
Schon Doorways operates an 80,000 sq ft state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Bengaluru with a monthly production capacity of 25,000–30,000 sq ft of aluminium systems.
Per international green norms, 30 per cent of the aluminium utilised is recycled, and the products adhere to international certifications such as LEED, IGBC, GRIHA and BREEAM.
Schon Doorways has created proprietary in-house hardware for magnetic sealing and smart locking and has filed a patent for its corner slider system. The company has made a significant investment in technology, targeting 60 per cent digitisation by 2027 through CNC automation, IoT-enabled operations and AI-powered quality control.
Ajay Balakrishna, Founder and CEO, Schon Doorways said, “The need for aluminium fenestration solutions striking a perfect balance between design, durability and sustainability is gaining momentum across markets. Our growth is a direct response to that need, where we aim to position Indian engineering at the forefront of a worldwide movement towards sustainable and high-performance architecture”.
This global expansion of the company also reiterates its ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, producing top-notch products in India while demonstrating indigenous innovation globally. The company’s initiative will also bolster employment generation, particularly in automated, sustainable and design-led manufacturing.
