To help the people in flood-ravaged Chennai, real estate portal CommonFloor has launched an initiative – ‘We Are With Chennai’ which comprises two activities i.e. ‘Need For Shelter’ and ‘Provide For Shelter. In the ‘Need for Shelter’, anyone stuck in any part of Chennai, can look for nearby areas / houses. All those who are willing to help by providing shelter can share their details at CommonFloor site via ‘Provide for Shelter’.
According to a press release, CommonFloor.com and its Twitter page have become epicenter for crowdsourcing all kinds of information: including adding requests for rescue, offers for shelter, listing of homes for shelter, info on affected as well as safe areas to travel etc.
