Composite development focus must, FM tells Haryana Govt
Haryana is home to industries but it must focus on the composite development of the entire state, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said at the ‘Happening Haryana’ summit in Gurgaon on Monday.
“There are parts of the state which need to come up. Social challenges arise on account of inequalities. Development in certain parts must reach other parts as well,” Jaitley said.
The minister urged the state to expand the network of educational institutions to those less developed parts of the state.
According to media reports, corporate honchos from the country and overseas are in Gurgaon to participate in the summit.
Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said, “The recent unfortunate events should not be repeated, referring to the recent agitation by Jats demanding reservation. There is nothing wrong in making demands but the proper democratic procedure must be followed.”
Naidu also said that the request by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to make Gurgaon a Smart City is under consideration. Faridabad and Karnalare the other two cities from Haryana which have made it to the shortlist.
