CREDAI NCR Women’s Wing extended its support to create awareness on International Girl Child Day
- CREDAI NCR Women’s Wing along with Prayas conducted a programme for girls to create awareness
12th October 2018, New Delhi: On the occasion of International Girl Child Day, Women’s Wing – Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) NCR Chapter today in the Capital has announced a tie-up with Prayas, an NGO working towards the restoration of childhood of neglected, marginalised, street and working children. CREDAI Women’s Wing also added ‘International Girl Child Day’ in their annual event calendar.
CREDAI NCR Women’s Wing through Prayas extended financial support of Rs. 1 lakh for the repair of roofs and floors of their Tuglakabad centre, Delhi. The total estimated cost of the repair work is Rs. 3.5 lakhs. As Women’s Wing is already supporting the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ bathrooms and toilets for the children will be restored. CREDAI NCR Women Wing took the responsibility of getting the whole work completed in a span of next few months.
Looking at the lack of gynaecological awareness that growing girls have, as there is nobody to educate them about it, a Gynaecologist and Psychiatrist from Metro Hospital visited the centre and a free check-up was done and issues related to hygiene among girls were also addressed. Packets of sanitary napkins were also distributed among the girls.
Speaking on this occasion Ms. Manju Gaur, Convener, CREDAI NCR Women Wing said “Being a woman and a mother we know how difficult it is to address the issues that these kids must be facing in their daily life and especially girls. Being CREDAI NCR Women’s Wing, this is just a beginning from our end to give back to the society and work for the upliftment and education of girl child”.
Speaking on the initiative and on the occasion of ‘International Girl Child Day’, Mr. Pankaj Bajaj, President CREDAI NCR said “Our objective is to make people aware that these kids are a vital part of our society and it’s our collective responsibility to embrace them. Through CREDAI NCR Women’s Wing, this is CREDAI NCR’s humble way of making a small yet deeply felt contribution to a cause which is important and vital for these kids”.
