Crown Worldwide opens record management centre

Crown Worldwide Group, the privately-held group of international logistics and related services companies, has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art records management centre in Chennai. According to a press release, the facility is one of its kinds in the records management space in India.

The new records centre was inaugurated by Jim Thompson, Chairman – Crown Worldwide Group in the presence of Ken Madrid, CEO – Asia Pacific and Srinivas Krishnan, MD – South Asia. The facility will be led by Praveen Joseph, Assistant General Manager – Records Management, South Asia in India, said the release.

The centre, situated at Guduvanchery near Chennai, deploys the best of technology and know-how to enhance safety and security of the records stored. Spread over a sprawling five acres of land, the facility has a capacity to store 2.2 million cartons when fully operational. To be developed in phases, the first phase is up and ready with a storage capacity of 1.2 million cartons and the second phase expected to be operational by 2016-17.

Speaking at the launch if the facility,Jim Thompson, Chairman, Crown Worldwide Group said, “India is a very significant market for the Crown Group and we are ourselves thoroughly impressed with how the facility has turned out to be. The management is happy to showcase the state of the art facility and hope that it will encourage deeper engagement with our clients.”
