DLF Cybercity, Chennai achieves Platinum LEED Certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC)


Becomes the only SEZ in Tamil Nadu to be conferred with Platinum LEED Certification under O&M Rating System
Delhi, 13th Sept 2016: DLF Cybercity Chennai, a major and established IT SEZ in Chennai, has been awarded ‘LEED Platinum Certification’ for all 9 Office Buildings under the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Rating System by the US Green Building Council.
With this, DLF’s 26 office buildings, including 12 buildings in Gurgaon, have been certified with LEED certification, totaling 5.65 million sqft of area under Platinum Certification and 16.61 million sqft of area under Gold Certification.
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) is a green building certification programme that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. The LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations &Maintenance (O&M) Rating System provides a road map for property managers, portfolio managers, and service providers who wish to drive down operating costs while increasing occupants’ productivity in an environmentally responsible manner. O&M Rating System addresses building exterior and site maintenance programs, efficient and optimized use of energy and water, the purchase of environmentally preferred products and food, waste stream management and ongoing indoor environmental quality. To achieve LEED certification, building must meet all prerequisites in the Rating System. Platinum certification is the highest LEED designation. It also sums up the design features that optimize all important parameters as mentioned above.
