LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environment Design) is a green building certification programme that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. The LEED for Existing Buildings:

Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Rating System provides a road map for property managers, portfolio managers, and service providers who wish to drive down operating costs while increasing

occupants’ productivity in an environmentally responsible manner. O&M Rating System addresses building exterior and site maintenance programs, efficient and optimized use of energy and water, the purchase of environmentally preferred products and food, waste stream management and ongoing indoor environmental quality. To achieve LEED certification, building must meet all prerequisites in the Rating System. Platinum certification is the highest LEED designation. It also sums up the design features that optimize all important parameters as mentioned above.
