The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) of a 14.958 km-long Metro link that will connect Noida’s Sector 71 with Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-5 area, said officials of the Noida Authority.
According to a report published in the media, the link project, that has a budget of Rs 3,900 crore, will have a total of nine Metro stations. It will take the Metro deeper into Noida and Greater Noida areas.
The work on this project is expected to begin on the ground next year after the local authorities and the DMRC complete all related paperwork. The project is expected to be completed in four years.
Officials said after approval from the Central Government, they will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the DMRC to make way for selection of the private agency.
According to the DPR, a three-coach metro will ply on this link, which will take the Metro to Noida’s Sector 71, 72, 122, 119, 118, 67, 63, 66 and other areas. The project will ensure Metro connectivity to Greater Noida’s Sector 1, 10, Knowledge Park -1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, and other areas.
