Feng Shui for your home and office – Let the chi flow in

Some would call Feng Shui an art form, while others may say it’s a skill. The truth lies, probably, in the middle, Feng Shui is concerned with creating sacred space in your home, or workspace, to make it a balanced place where energy, or ‘chi’, can flow in and the person can be happier, healthier and more prosperous.

Sometimes it is obvious that if you move a chair out of the way of an entrance there is more energetic ‘flow’ through a room. Once you create more flow and positive energy, or ‘qi’ or chi in your environment it will affect your very being in very positive ways.

BLURB

Like in Vastu, if you follow certain principles of directions and correctly use symbols of wealth, health, and happiness, by placing them correctly in your home, you will reap immense benefit

Symbolism, meaning

Also, Feng Shui believes in symbolism and hidden meanings of certain symbols and inviting them into your home or workplace can affect your space magically.

Like in Vastu, if you follow certain principles of directions and correctly use symbols of wealth, health, and happiness, by placing them correctly in your home, you will reap immense benefit.

Here are some magical symbols in Feng Shui and their use:

Laughing Buddha: Place a laughing Buddha of any size material and colour at the entrance of your home to bring in prosperity and happiness in your home.

Hang Wind Chimes: Hang wind chimes on the entrance door of your home so that each time the door opens, a fresh flow of positive ‘chi’ is invited into your home because each time the bells ring, they will convert stagnant energy to positive energy.

Gold fish: Gifting someone fish or getting fish into your home is a symbol of good luck prosperity and abundance. Gold fish, in particular, will not just bring you abundance and wealth, they will create very positive chi in your environment. So get that aquarium and place it in the South direction of your space. Place the gold fish in odd numbers, like 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11, and so on.

Growth, prosperity

Bamboo shoot: Keeping a young bamboo shoot is a symbol of growth and prosperity. Keep it in your living room and water it regularly. Remember to keep it in sunlight once in a while and it should be aired every day.

Mandarin ducks: These are a symbol of relationship, harmony and love. If you want your relationship to grow and remain harmonious, bring a pair of these ducks (a male and a female) and place them on a table in the southwest corner of your bedroom, which is the corner of love.

Three-legged toad: To improve your financial luck and to grow your finances, bring into your home this toad which has three legs sitting on a bed of coins. This three-legged toad symbol also has a coin in its mouth. Be careful how you place it though. It is ideally kept on a high pedestal, opposite the main door of your house and its back should face this door so that you do not see its face only its back. This is an effective way of ensuring growth in your finances.

Good health, longevity

Woolu: This is a Chinese fruit and a symbol of good health which should be placed on the headboard of your bed, which means that when a person is sleeping, the fruit should be hanging above the head .This helps anyone who is ailing, and not only it gives relief to the person, it is also a symbol of longevity.

Dragon tortoise: This symbol bears the head of a dragon and the body of a tortoise sitting on a bed of coins. It may have one or two small baby tortoise sitting on its back .This is a very auspicious creature that offers support to anyone who is weak and needs strength, especially at the work place. It guards one against politics and gives you the support that you need in difficult situations at your workplace. You can place it at the back of your work table in your office, but make sure it is not facing you. You, or anyone else, should be able to see only its back.
