Fix civic issues, new Noida Chairman directs officials

Pravir Kumar, who replaced Rama Raman as the new Chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities on Wednesday, has directed officials to fix civic issues and also take appropriate steps in areas where home buyers are facing civic woes.
“I will soon have a meeting with district administration and police to streamline policing in the district. I will take suitable steps to ensure that interests of property buyers and corporate investors are safeguarded properly,” the 1982- batch IAS officer said soon after joining office.
Kumar, who also has additional charge of CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, said that he will take a balanced approach to revive realty sector that is witnessing a slump due to liquidity crisis faced by the builders.
The Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authority are facing financial issues and they are unable to begin work on new infrastructure projects as they are yet to recover Rs 25,000 crore dues from builders.
“I will ask for coercive legal action actions only against willful defaulter builders. But the approach will be balanced because we have to seek solutions instead of creating problems for realty or industrial sector”, the newly-appointed
Chairman said.
Kumar also added that his focus will be on setting up new industries in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna e-way areas so that jobs can be created and economy can get a boost.
