GDA allocates space for offices of juvenile board, welfare body

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has allocated office space for Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and child welfare committee (CWC) in Karpooripuram, Ghaziabad.
According to a published media report, GDA has handed over a duplex building measuring 112 sq m for the purpose on a monthly rent of Rs 12,000.The space has been given for five years or till an alternative office is arranged by GDA.
According to officials, the space was allocated following an order by the Allahabad High Court. “The court order was issued nearly two years ago. The building has been handed over following completion of necessary formalities,” a senior GDA official was quoted in the media.
The court had issued the order based on the recommendations of a monitoring committee formed to trace missing children.
The handover was delayed due to an order issued in 2001 by the UP Housing Department which restrained GDA from allotting any buildings for rent.
