GDA prepares for Master Plan 2041


Ghaziabad: As the Master Plan 2021 inches towards its final phase, the Ghaziabad development authority (GDA) officials have decided to initiate the process for preparation of Master Plan 2041 soon. In this connection, the authority’s town planning department has prepared a proposal which will be placed in the upcoming board meeting scheduled for September-end.
Presently, the authority is working as per the present Master Plan which will end in 2021. The officials said the next plan will be in place till 2041.
The officials said they will start the process soon as it will take several years to complete the plan and also involve a number of processes and estimations.
Normally, an area’s development plans are in conformity with the sub-regional plans which, in turn adheres to the regional plans prepared by the NCR Planning Board. The 2021 plan was prepared in 2005.
Although the officials said there can be no development in an area in deviation of the master plan, the officials indicate that 15-20% of the development go awry. This is mainly on account of unauthorised construction and settlements, they said.
