Key Highlights
- Fresh restrictions and lockdowns in various states resulted in subdued travel demand in April 2021.
- As a result, domestic air passenger traffic declined by over 26% during the month compared to March 2021.
- Nationwide hotel occupancy has also declined M-o-M but witnessed a strong Y-o-Y growth compared to the previous year’s low.
- Several hotel companies have tied up with hospitals to provide isolation & quarantine facilities to mildly symptomatic and asymptomatic patients, helping reduce the acute shortage of hospital beds in the country.
