MBD Group promotes senior management


Leading education company MBD Group on Thursday promoted Monica Malhotra Kandhari as Managing Director. Earlier, she was a Senior Director in the company. Sonica Malhotra, another key member of the leadership team, was elevated as Joint Managing Director.
Both are daughters of MBD Group founder Ashok Kumar Malhotra.
According to a press release, Monica Malhotra Kandhari has taken a series of initiatives in the past few years to spur growth at MBD Group. She has not just successfully managed the complete transformation of the Group’s education vertical but has also ensured a healthy bottom-line year on year. Her contribution to the Group’s hospitality vertical has also been significant.
The release said Sonica Malhotra has played a stellar role in revolutionising MBD Group with significant contribution to enhancement of operational efficiencies, alignment of reporting structure, functional transparency and external credibility. Her acumen and insights in matters relating to finance, legal, and taxation have helped the Group transform and stay focused on growth targets, it said.
Commenting on the development, Satish Bala Malhotra, Chairperson, MBD Group, said, “As we embark on the next phase of our incredible journey after completing 60 years with growing multinational reach of the MBD conglomerate, I am proud to announce promotion for both my daughters. In order to strengthen our leadership structure, become more proficient and deliver faster than ever before, we have elevated Monica and Sonica to positions of Managing Director and Joint Managing Director respectively. I am confident that this will further give a boost to their commitment to pursue their father’s dream and encourage them to break fresh ground, and scout for new opportunities.
