Minister lays Foundation Stone for 250-bed Ayurveda and Naturopathy hospital in Goa

New Delhi, 14th November: Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik laid the foundation stone for a 250-bed Ayurveda and Naturopathy hospital in Goa to be developed by NBCC, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Govt. of India at a cost of Rs 260 crore.

Spread over an area of 50 acres, the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy (AIIAY&N) Hospital will also cater to over 500 students every year offering UG, PG, PhD Degree. The proposed hospital will be divided into two categories – a 100-bed Ayurveda facility and a 150-bed Naturopathy IPD.

Speaking on the development, NBCC CMD Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, said, “Naturopathy has become a way of life that brings together the goodness of the five essential elements. Ayurveda is India’s gift to the world and it should be promoted across the globe. NBCC strives to develop healthcare facilities that are not just state-of-the-art marvels of architecture but also promote India as a sought after healthcare destination in the world.”

NBCC will complete the project in next 24 months.

The Institute will also have the hostel facility for 67 room for Doctors and 91 rooms for 182 students in medical college for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy. Yoga facility centre will include Diabetic Clinic, Cardiac Care Unit, including specialized Yoga therapy room for 30 patients.

Minister for Health, Govt. of Goa, Shri Vishwajeet Rane;  Minister for Tourism & Sports, Govt. of Goa, Shri Manohar Azgaonkar; ex-Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar; Secretary, MoAYUSH, Shri Rajesh Kotecha; and Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa, Shri Dharmendra Sharma were present during the ceremony among others.

NBCC has been a prime mover in Health Infrastructure sector of the country and has been undertaking several significant projects such as ESIC Hospitals, Medical Colleges & Hospitals of various State Govts. across the country. The company has recently acquired HSCC, formerly known as Hospital Services Consultancy, involved in developing institutional and healthcare infrastructure projects. With this takeover, NBCC will strengthen its healthcare vertical and expertise.
