Naidu asks Amrapali to fulfill promises made to consumers

Naidu

A day after the Samajwadi Party called for strict action against defaulting builders in Noida, Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday asked infrastructure firm Amrapali Group to fulfill the promises made to the consumers.

According to an ANI report, Naidu asked builders, including Amrapali, to fulfill the promises. “There is no need to comment on this issue, they have to adhere to the schedule. What has been promised has to be fulfilled, because of such examples only, the real estate Bill was resuscitated,” Naidu told ANI.

Referring the real estate Bill passed by Parliament recently, Naidu urged the builders to adhere to the timed schedule.

“I appeal to all the builders to adhere to the timed schedule. The real estate Bill is passed by both Houses of the Parliament. Now we’re discussing about framing of rules. An Act will come into force soon. Action will be taken against those responsible,” he added.

The Amrapali Group is one of India’s leading real estate companies. On Friday, its brand ambassador and India’s one-day cricket captain MSDhoni quit the post after angry homebuyers trolled him on Twitter.Dhonisaid that he would take up the homebuyers’ concern with Amrapali, adding that “whatever is promised, I think it needs to be met.”
