Naredco Signs MOU With Construction Skill Development Council Of India

New Delhi, 15^th May, 2019: National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO)-an apex real estate body which works under the aegis of MoHUA, Govt of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI), an autonomous industry led body under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The objective of MoU is to promote and propagate certification of large untapped unskilled workforce working primarily in the organized sector with the best in class developers, in furtherance to the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The idea behind this collaboration is to foster the industry acceptance of RPL certification and augment outreach of the scheme across various industrial players. NAREDCO has identified the need of significant initiative which sets up a platform for the workforce to get officially get recognized and certified under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). This is an opportunity for accounting the unskilled workforce and leverages their contribution by enhancing its scale in an organised manner.

Commenting on this imperative development Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, National President, NAREDCO said that “The foremost objective of this MoU is to incentivize industry players for associating to the scheme and mandate the certification of their workforce across their different areas of operation. RPL with best in class employer launched under PMKVY envisages utilizing supervisors / workshop managers / senior supervisors of industry players as employee assessors and linking them with the concerned sector skill councils of orientation, conduct of assessment and Co-branded certification.”

It is also worth mentioning that in the first phase a target of 25000 candidates, across various construction sites on a pan India basis, for all job roles has been allotted by CSDCI. Based on the outcome and speed of delivery in first phase, NAREDCO will seek additional target of 25000 after 80% progress in the first phase. NAREDCO has appointed India vision Realty Infrastructure Pvt Ltd., a CSDCI affiliated training partner, to act as facilitator with NAREDCO for the conduct of assessment and certification.

“The role of NAREDCO will be to co-work with SCC’s for finalization of job roles, facilitate co-branded certification of employees/ workers; appoint and take professional assistance from facilitator organization which has experience in conducting this program; also as an industry body work towards consolidation of sites of its industry network; and work closely with the facilitator in mobilization and certification of the candidates” further adds Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani.
