NMRC signs MoU with DMRC for telecom and signalling work


The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Friday signed an agreement for signalling and telecom technology on the 30 km Noida-Greater Noida link to be ready by the end of 2017.
The contract that has a budget of approximately ₹290 crore was signed by H S Anand, director (Rolling Stock) DMRC, and senior representatives of DMRC and NMRC at the Delhi Metro headquarters in Metro Bhawan.
“As per the agreement signed on Friday, the consortium of contractors will provide wireless communication based train contact (CBTC) system and all telecommunication systems for display and CCTV cameras, among other facilities. The technology will be provided for all the 21 stations and the depot on the 30 km Noida-Greater Noida project,” Santosh Yadav, managing director of NMRC, said.
Around 50 per cent of the work on the link is over and the link is likely to be opened by the end of 2017 as per schedule, NMRC officials said.
The NMRC have also recently signed an agreement with the DMRC as per which the DMRC will be assisting NMRC in their operations & maintenance on Noida-Greater Noida link.
“The DMRC will be providing such assistance till the NMRC develops the expertise to take over the operations and maintenance,” Yadav said.
