Noida Authority to allot 2,000 flats under samajwadi housing scheme


The Noida Authority on Friday said that it will organise a lucky draw to allot 2,000 flats under its Samajwadi affordable housing scheme in the beginning of April.
The scheme launched by CM Akhilesh Yadav in all the cities is aimed at providing cheap housing facilities to the middle class and lower middle-class income group, a senior official quoted in media.
According to a published media report, the housing department of the authority will finalise the date of the lucky draw next week. Under the scheme, the authority has 1,280 flats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and 720 flats under the Low Income Group (LIG) flats category.
The Authority had started selling brochures for the scheme was March 18, 2016. The affordable housing project is slated to be delivered by 2017. Construction work has already begun in sections 122, 117, and 118 the official said in the media. The authority is spending Rs. 160 crore to construct the flats.
Official added, “A 32 metre flat is priced at Rs 14.07 lakh and a 71 metre flat is being offered at Rs 30 lakh. The four-storied building will only provide parking space for two-wheelers. A LIG flat under the scheme will have two rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony.
According to the authority, 2,123 applicants have applied for 1,280 flats under the EWS category. And 1,148 applicants have applied for 720 LIG units.
