If other states decide to take cue from this order, it will have detrimental effect on property market’s sentiments and will further push property prices. The property transactions were already attracting stamp duty, service tax and imposition of VAT will add another layer of taxes, ultimately affecting buyers. A matter of serious concern is that it can create confusion if implemented retrospectively.
