Promoters laud UPRERA for timely approvals during lockdown; Authority directs officers to take timely action
May 11, 2020: After the overwhelming response on the first “RERA Samvaad”, the second “RERA Samvaad” to address the problems of home buyers and other stakeholders through video conference was organised by Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (U.P. RERA) on May 11, 2020. The Authority was represented by the UP RERA Chairman, Members and senior officers. For the Project related issues promoters across the state actively participated in the RERA Samvaad, seeking clarification for extension of registration for their projects, the relaxation in the statutory requirements of RERA due to COVID-19, the revised project timelines, stating their financial conditions and help from the Authority, etc. As many as 30 queries/complaints/grievances were raised by Homebuyers, Promoters, Chartered Accountants, Advocates and other professions during two hours-long public grievances session. Around 10 questions each in the categories of Complaints, Order execution and project related issues were listed for the Authority to address and appropriate solutions to be found out.
Stakeholders appreciated the efforts of U.P. RERA. As the nationwide lockdown continues and to maintain the social distancing norms to fight COVID-19 by reducing the number of visitors in the office location, Authority decided to launch “RERA Samvaad” for people who will have any complaints or grievances to raise and to meet up senior RERA officers face to face while resolving their issues. The Authority will continue to hear the public grievances through “RERA Samvaad”. Those who want to join this dialogue through VC may register by clicking the link “RERA Samvaad” on the home page of the website of the Authority (www.up-rera.in). The Authority will talk to the first 30 persons registering for hearing on a given date. The Authority will use Microsoft Teams application for the video conference. The Authority will send the link for the meeting to those registering for hearing a day prior to the date of the meeting.
