RERA Chiefs, realty developers, experts brainstorm at a conclave in Gurugram

Gurugram, February 25, 2022: Various State’s RERA Heads, realty developers representing NAFREDCO, Credai and experts from the industry gathered in Gurugram for a a 2-day conclave organized to promote planned urbanization in Haryana. 

Speaking at the occasion RERA Panchkula Chief Rajan Gupta said that urbanization in Haryana is about 35 per cent and at the national level this figure is about 32 per cent. He said that the urbanization sector is under pressure today and it is necessary to identify the reasons behind it and find a solution. He said that the process of urbanization has changed ever since beginning of economic reforms in the country. He also mentioned the challenges being faced by RERA and said that the present law is silent in the matter of regulating the safety norms, hence there is a need to make new legal provisions.

Giving a detailed presentation at the event, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana Government, Devender Singh informed about various aspects of urban development in Haryana. He said that after the Covid pandemic, real estate and urbanization are now reviving again. He said that Gurugram has the highest number of new launches of real estate in NCR, which stood at 51 per cent of the entire NCR region. He said that so far 2,072 licenses for 39,765 acres of land have been given in Haryana. Of these, 609 licenses have been given for 8,280 acres for group housing, in which 3,34,244 units or plots have been developed or are being developed. Apart from these, 502 residential plotted colony licenses have been given for 23,039 acres in which there are 1,80,801 units or plots. Industrial and IT have also been given 92 licenses for 2,949 acres. Singh said that the Department will give approval in a time bound manner by adopting digital interventions.

In the inaugural session, CEO, GMDA, Sudhir Rajpal, Director General, Town and Country Planning Department, KM Pandurang, Chairman, HRERA Gurugram Chairman Dr. KK Khandelwal, UP RERA Chairman Rajiv Kumar, Chairman, Rajasthan RERA, NC Goyal, Bihar RERA Chairman Naveen Verma, Delhi RERA Chairman Anand Kumar, Himachal Pradesh RERA Chairman Shrikant Baldi,  Jharkhand RERA Chairperson Seema Sinha, NAREDCO Haryana Chairman Parveen Jain, CREDAI Haryana Secretary Manish Agarwal and many other dignitaries were present.
