SAIL’s second COVID care unit opened at Durgapur Steel Plant


Faggan Singh Kulaste, MoS for Steel, SS Ahluwalia, MP from Durgapur, MLAs of the region and Soma Mondal, Chairperson, SAIL, and other senior officials from Steel Ministry and SAIL also joined the online inauguration.
Pradhan applauded the commitment of SAIL in acting swiftly and setting up the second COVID-care unit within a short time. He said it will give a boost to COVID-related medical infrastructure in the region and provide the much-needed help to patients.
A press release said SAIL has strengthened West Bengal’s resolve to fight the pandemic. Recently, a 200-bed COVID-care facility at Burnpur was dedicated to the service of the nation. This was the first in the series of jumbo COVID-care facilities being set up by SAIL in a fast-track mode, added the release.
