Steel Minister opens Ispat Nidan Kendra


Ispat Nidan Kendra, a newly-developed state-of-the-art COVID treatment centre of SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, through virtual mode on June 2.
This centre currently has 100 oxygenated beds, including 50 which are ventilator-attached. Work is in progress to increase the oxygenated beds strength to 500, said a press release.
Speaking at the event, Pradhan said SAIL RSP has once again rose to the occasion and proved its capability by taking up a host of initiatives to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He said the new facility will help in containing the second wave of the pandemic in the region and also strengthen the healthcare response.
