The Omaxe State Hosts Prestigious BRICS CCI Gala Event on Mega Sports Cities

New Delhi, September 15, 2025: The Omaxe State hosted the prestigious Gala Event organised by the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI), bringing together diplomats from BRICS+ and partner nations, policymakers, and industry leaders for a special evening celebrating the crossover of sports and lifestyle. Themed ‘The Rise of Mega Sports Cities – India’s Turn at the Global Stage’, the event highlighted the transformative role of sports in shaping future cities while reflecting on India’s aspirations and potential to emerge as a global hub for sports-led urban development.
The evening featured cultural performances, address by industry leaders like BRICS CCI Vice Chairman Sameep Shastri, Omaxe Ltd Executive Director Jatin Goel as well as an in-depth presentation on The Omaxe State. From thought-provoking discussions on sports as a catalyst for diplomacy and commerce to celebrating global partnerships, the event reflected the growing importance of sports in redefining urban economies and lifestyles.

Speaking on the occasion, Omaxe Ltd Managing Director Mohit Goel said, “It is an honour for The Omaxe State to host such a distinguished gathering. Sports have the power to unite communities, transform cities, and create lasting economic and cultural value. Through The Omaxe State, we want to put not only Delhi NCR but also India on the global sporting map. With the stadium and world-class infrastructure at its core, this development is designed to create an ecosystem where sports, lifestyle, and entertainment come together to fuel urban transformation and global recognition.”

“It was a privilege to be part of this prestigious event that brought together such distinguished voices on the future of sports in India. The dialogue has further strengthened the belief that India is ready to create global benchmarks in sports-led urban development. There is a clear need to build mega sports cities in the country, and with The Omaxe State we have an opportunity to position Delhi NCR and India on the global map. Beyond world-class sports infrastructure, we are creating a destination that integrates a wide range of services under one roof,” added Omaxe Ltd Executive Director Jatin Goel.
Spanning 50.4 acres, The Omaxe State is one of Delhi NCR’s most ambitious sports, lifestyle, and entertainment destinations. Developed under a PPP model with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which is building the ICC & FIFA-standard 30,000-seater stadium at its heart, the project I designed around five lifestyle districts: Sports, Hospitality, Food, Social, and Shopping. It brings together global-standard infrastructure with a vision to make sports and leisure integral to Delhi NCR’s future.
Taking inspiration from global benchmarks like Melbourne Olympic Park, Beijing’s Olympic precinct, Singapore Sports Hub, Accor Arena in Paris, and iconic developments in London, The Omaxe State aims to position itself alongside the world’s most successful sports-led urban ecosystems. Within India, projects like Jio World Centre Mumbai operated by Oberoi Hotels and The Bay Club have set new benchmarks, and The Omaxe State is designed to build on this ambition for the capital region.
The destination will feature more than 40 restaurants, cafés, bars, and clubs along with a 4.2 km long shopping high street, making it one of the largest lifestyle hubs in the country. By offering world-class event venues and entertainment spaces, The Omaxe State will also promote the concert economy in Delhi, creating a platform for international artists and large-scale cultural showcases.
With India bidding for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the 2036 Olympics, the timing of this project carries special significance. The Omaxe State is envisioned as a natural anchor for such global sporting opportunities, combining state-of-the-art infrastructure with hospitality, retail, and entertainment that can support events of international scale.
Strategically located next to Bharat Vandana Park and Yashobhoomi, Asia’s largest convention centre, the development is expected to attract global conferences, exhibitions, and marquee sporting events. With a catchment population of nearly 30 lakh within a 10 km radius (comparable to Paris) it is poised to attract footfalls on par with global destinations such as Dubai Mall and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
