UP RERA calls 51 promoters for review meeting, to take strict actions against 41 absentees


UP RERA, on last month called a review meeting of the promoters of RERA’s lapse projects. A total of 51 promoters were called for the review meeting, of which, 41 promoters were absent. UP RERA is ready to take strict action against the absentees.


According to UP RERA Secretary Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Promoters who are constantly absent in the Review Meeting and ignoring the orders of the Authority, now listed by the Authority and action against them will be taken soon, as per RERA rules. The proceedings include freezing of bank accounts, prohibiting their sale and purchase, their new project will not be registered by RERA. Promoters who are selling the unit despite project laps will be charged with the sections of the RERA Act and possible imprisonment. According to Section-3(1) & 59 of THE REAL ESTATE (REGULATION AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 2016
U.P. RERA is reviewing projects whose completion date has expired but so far these promoters have not reported the completion of the projects and has not applied for the extension of project. Such promoters are being called by the Authority for review meeting but many promoters were absent in this meeting.
