CM clears plan for cycle tracks in Noida
UP chief minister Akhilesh yadav on Saturday chalked out a plan to develop Noida as a “cycle-friendly” city by building 50km of dedicated corridors across the city in a bid to promote green transport.
Chief minister Yadav has announced that the blueprint for the cycle tracks is being designed by a Dutch engineering consultancy firm and directed officials to implement the action plan on a priority basis to keep the city pollution free. The state capital, Lucknow, as well as the city of Agra, will also be developed as cycle-friendly cities, he said.
The total cost to build the cycle track in Noida will be Rs 49 crore.
In the first phase cycle tracks will be built in sector 62 and sector 44 respectively. The two tracks will be about 45 feet wide and will cost Rs 19 crore.
Yadav also announced the 2,400 acre park in Greater Noida to bring ecological balance to the city. The green expanse will be developed according to international standards, which will cost Rs 132 crore.
He further said that the park will be developed in three phases and will have a butterfly park and bird lake park. Scores of different varieties of trees and plants besides clusters of bamboo plants will be planted.
