Ficci, Udaipur civic body sign MoU for Smart City project
The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) and the Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC)signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Udaipur on Tuesday for developing Udaipur as a Smart City.
After signing the MoU, a workshop to brainstorm on the challenges faced by the city of Udaipur and the solutions to address these challenges was organised. Sectoral experts from various companies made technical presentations in the areas of solid waste management, urban mobility and heritage conservation.
Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Udaipur Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, District Collector Rohit Gupta and Commissioner Himmat Singh Barhat were the other dignitaries who spoke at the workshop.
Ficci and UMC along with other stakeholders will work jointly on the vision, goals and strategies to develop Udaipur as a Smart City. Ficci will align the interest of industry members with those of the Government and will also provide technology support to the Udaipur Smart City project. It will also assist the UMC through required consultation and advisory inputs on policy advocacy relevant to the development of Udaipur under the smart cities initiative.
