IGBC, TSIIC enter into MoU
Hyderabad, October 22, 2022: CII-Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Cooperation (TSIIC) signed an MoU at Green Building Congress 2022 to enhance the green building projects in Telangana. According to a press release issued by them, both the parties would jointly work towards development of green buildings in Telangana. The two parties would also work together towards incentivizing green buildings rating system to suit various types of construction projects involving buildings and the built environment that is renovation and retrofitting of existing buildings. Both the parties have agreed to jointly conduct an assessment study to evaluate the green criteria of potential projects (industrial parks, office buildings, commercial buildings, any other TSIIC buildings Government intends to) and handhold TSIIC/it’s Consultants for entire lifecycle of the Project
Together, TSIIC and IGBC would carry out the capacity building (through training and awareness programmes) of professionals (like architects, urban planners, transport planners, engineers, contractors, MEP consultants, etc.) involved in the development of TSIIC projects. TSIIC and IGBC would also jointly participate at various platforms to spread awareness about the concept of sustainable built environment in Telangana involving green buildings and green cities. This would showcase Telangana as a Model Green State for the rest of the country. In addition, TSIIC shall recommend IGBC Green Rating Systems for existing, ongoing and upcoming projects initiated by TSIIC.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. E V Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chairman & Managing Director (FAC), TSIIC and Mr. Gurmit Singh Arora, Chairman, IGBC.
