NHIDCL hires REPL as consultant for NH project in Manipur
The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has appointed Rudrabhishek Enterprises Ltd. (REPL) venture as a supervision consultant for widening and Improvement of a section of NH-39 and NH-102C in Manipur.
The agreement to this effect was signed on August 19, in New Delhi.
The project, said a press release, is to widen and improve the Imphal-Moreh section (29.731 km) on NH-39 in the state of Manipur. Besides, it also includes the construction of Moreh Bypass (2.52 km) to two-lane with a paved shoulder on NH-39 near the Indo-Myanmar border and widening and strengthening to two-laning with hard paved shoulder of Parallel-Chandel section (18.292 km) of NH-102C.
The total stretch of the National Highway to be widened, strengthened, and constructed in Manipur is 50.543 km and the cost involved is Rs 449.78 crore.
The project will improve and enhance the road infrastructure in the area for better connectivity and all-season transportation of people, goods, and material.
REPL would support NHIDCL in these endeavors by providing consultancy services as the Authority’s Engineer for the supervision of the project. The project timeline is divided into two phases i.e. two years of construction and five years of maintenance.
Pradeep Misra, CMD, REPL, said, “Northeast India holds great strategic importance for trade and tourism purposes and strong connectivity across the area is essential for the overall development. The Government’s Look East Policy that aims at enhancing the infrastructure here by widening the roads, expanding air connectivity, extending railway networks, opening new and reactivating dormant trade routes, as well as facilitating border trade and transit points will open the gate for the fast-paced development of the region.”
