Parties To Upload The Documents At Least 48 Hours Prior To The Hearing In UP RERA
Lucknow/ Gautambuddh Nagar, March 4, 2024: U.P. RERA has introduced changes in the time-limit for uploading of the documents by the parties. Hence forward the parties shall have to upload the documents or the objections or the counter- objections at least 48 hours prior to the date and time of hearing in RERA Benches. RERA has decided to lock the facility for uploading of such documents two days prior to the hearing at 10:00 A.M. An order to this effect has been issued on 20th February, 2024.
The Authority conducts the hearing of complaints through e-courts in which the parties participate in the hearing virtually. They file their written statements and supporting documents online using the facility provided on their dash boards. Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman U.P. RERA said that both the RERA Benches and the parties have been experiencing difficulties because of late filing of the documents, objections or counter-objections by some of the parties, sometimes as late as the start of the hearing itself. As a result thereof, the other party does not get sufficient time to submit its reply and prepare its case in advance. The RERA Benches also do not get sufficient time to study the case, thus leading to the adjournment of the case for reply by the other party. Such a situation defeats the object of RERA to expeditiously decide the case and impart justice to the aggrieved persons.
Speaking on the new measures by U.P. RERA, Bhoosreddy called upon the parties to the complaints to strictly adhere to the timelines laid down by the Authority and act as catalysts of delivery of speedy justice.
