Tata Housing launches broker networking platform Bandhan

On the eve of the ‘World Brokers Day’, real estate firm Tata Housing announced the launch of the country’s first networking platform for brokers on Monday. Titled ‘Bandhan’, the platform has been created with a vision to connect, educate, train and certify the broker community, in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

According to a press release, ‘Bandhan’ aims at introducing standardised and transparent brokerage practices amidst a very large unorganised broker community, for the benefit of consumers. Apart from training, the platform will enable brokers to list the entire secondary market housing stock to be showcased across the country.

Speaking on the launch of this initiative, Brotin Banerjee, CEO and MD, Tata Housing said, “Despite playing a critical role in the buying cycle, brokers have never got their due respect because of the huge gap in the service expectation of the customer. We believe a lot of credit for the growth of the real estate industry should have been given to brokers as they play a critical role in the buying cycle of a consumer.”

He added “With this platform, we not only wish to express our gratitude to the community but help them enhance their skills to serve the end-consumer better.”

“Brokers have played a crucial role in the evolution of the real estate market.  We believe this is a great initiative by Tata Housing that would help the broker community enhance their image and command respect that has been long due,” said Devina Ghildial, MD South Asia, RICS.
