CREDAI-NCR seeks to link Bihar bylaws with development needs
The suggestions were put forward in ‘Udyami Panchayat’ organised by the Bihar Government in Rajgir recently. Dr Anil Kumar Sharma, president, CREDAI-NCR & CMD, Amrapali Group represented the developers’ body in the meeting.
In order to meet the need of housing units in the state, the government of Bihar has invited the suggestions from all the stakeholders on the proposed Draft Building Bylaws (DBB).
The Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has underlined the fact that construction rate in Bihar is just 11 per cent against the national rate of 33 per cent and emphasized the need to increase it to at least 20 per cent in next financial year. Taking progressive steps in this direction, Kumar has ordered the Urban Development Department to create different sets of bylaws for different areas of the state, develop satellite townships near Patna and rationalise circle rates.
Welcoming the decisions made by the state government and comprehensive discussion on building bylaws, Dr Sharma said,” It is a reasonably good beginning. Though many suggestions put forward by the developers’ community have not been accepted so far, but we welcome government’s progressive outlook and willingness to understand each and every stake holders’ perspective. Government’s recent decisions are indicative of their determination to take Bihar forward. We hope that the Government of Bihar will take into account the suggestions of developers’ community before notifying the building bylaws.”
