UP RERA reviews 76 projects from NCR
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) held review meetings of 76 projects from the NCR region with their respective promoters, between July 5 and 9.
The meetings, said a press release, were held with a view to facilitate the completion of such projects and ensure the compliance of UP RERA orders with respect to the allottees of these projects.
The meetings were chaired by UP RERA Chairman Rajive Kumar and attended by Members Balvinder Kumar, Kalpana Misra, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Secretary Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmed and other senior officers of the Authority.
The projects under review included those whose registration has lapsed and the promoters have not been able to complete them within the period of registration, said the release further.
During the meetings, it said, the promoters presented the project completion plan, current status of the project, funding availability, map validation, OC/CC certificates and the dues pending with the Authority.
The Authority also took stock of the status of the un-complied orders of the Authority relating to the handing over of the possession or refund to the homebuyers by the concerned promoters.
At the meeting, Kumar emphasised that the compliance of the pending orders of the Authority was paramount and directed the promoters to do so within three months, failing which the Authority will take strict action.
According to the release, the promoters put forward various reasons for their inability to complete the projects and presented corrective measures to complete these. Some of the promoters stated that even after six-month extension of the project registration on account of COVID-19 pandemic, the construction work could not get momentum due to lack of funds, shortage of construction workers and difficulty in procurement of construction material.
