Western Court’s land use to be changed to ‘residential’
The Union Urban Development Ministry has proposed to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to change Western Court’s land use from ‘Govt use’ to ‘residential’ in the Master Plan 2021.
The Western Court complex, spread over 7.76 acres in Lutyens’ Zone-D, has suites and double suites. According to media reports, a proposal was tabled in the DDA board meeting last week. The authority has issued a public notice inviting suggestions and objections from the public.
“The Lok Sabha Secretariat had requested that additional suites need to be built in the vacant space available in the Western Court and hence there was a need to change the land use from Government office to residential hostel,” a DDA official said.
“The technical committee recommended a change of land use. The authority has started the change of land use by inviting objections and suggestions from the public under Section 11A of the DDA Act,” the official said.
“Anyone having any objections or suggestions with respect to the proposed modification is required to send the objection/suggestion in writing to the commissioner-cum-secretary of DDA within a period of 30 days,” the public notice said.
